Classroom Support

The Pearson Foundation helps schools, teachers, and academic leaders do all they can to help students succeed. Together with corporate, non-profit, and academic partners, we deliver innovative, scalable learning programs to schools; provide academic awards, training, and professional support to teachers; and support leadership initiatives that establish and document best practices for students and educators.

NAF Collaboration Network

The Pearson Foundation is a proud sponsor of the National Academy Foundation, a national network of career academies that support the development of America's youth toward personal and professional success in high school, in higher education, and throughout their careers. At NAF’s career academies, teachers use a new research-based curriculum developed jointly by NAF and the Pearson Foundation – curriculum which integrates career-themed subject matter with project-based learning. In addition, the Pearson Foundation has committed more than $2 million dollars since 2004 to help NAF establish professional development and training materials that provide NAF the opportunity to articulate, document, and broadcast the exemplary teaching practices that underlie NAF’s students’ success.

BridgeIT

Together with Nokia, International Youth Foundation, and UNDP, Pearson launched BridgeIT in 2003. This global program combines existing mobile products and satellite technologies to deliver digital multimedia materials to teachers and students who otherwise would not have access to them. Since June 2003, teachers have been using mobile phones supplied by Nokia to access a library of science videos that are part of Pearson Digital Learning’s KnowledgeBox. Once selected, videos are downloaded via satellite to a Nokia digital video recorder connected to a television right in the classroom.
