Jumpstart and Pearson share a passion for education and inspiring people to reach their full potential. These shared goals and values led Jumpstart and Pearson to create the Pearson Teacher Fellowship.

The Pearson Teacher Fellowship began with a multi-million-dollar commitment in 2001 to provide an opportunity for achievement-oriented college graduates to enter the early education field by becoming preschool teachers in Head Start and other early learning centers. The Fellowship provides these talented individuals a stipend, intensive training, assistance earning teaching certification, mentoring from a Pearson professional, and additional support and resources during the first two years of their teaching careers.

Pearson Teacher Fellows begin this post-graduate experience with an intensive, two-week summer training program. There, they share experiences and learn together from leading child development and education professionals. In the process, they develop important approaches to teaching and classroom management techniques they'll use once school begins.

During these orientation sessions, Pearson Teacher Fellows also have the opportunity to document their own achievements and ambitions in brief digital films they create and complete themselves.

To meet the remarkable Pearson Teacher Fellows, click on the links below, organized by year, to view their films. If you would like to contact any of the Fellows or learn more about the Fellowship, please e-mail pearson@jstart.org.
